Kush was a village in the Himalayan valleys where it is believed cannabis originated from, it's first appearance has a 10,000 plus documented history with mankind dating back to 8000BC, first "identified" in history as hemp string on decorative on a pot found in Taiwan. It is entirely possible that cannabis has a much further history with homosapiens and our interrelated species. Truly, cannabis has evolved as a plant with the help of mankind through breeding. Cannabis plants have evolved into a series of species over 10,000 years as it moved from it's native central Asia into India, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. With every step of growth cannabis has been a vital element for it's industrial, medicinal, religious, and cultural impact on humanity as you will see in the timeline.
Cannabis, not naturally of origin outside of central Asia spread its popularity through people proactively cultivating and transporting it around the world. Touted by nation leaders in China, Europe, and even America, hemp at one time was a mandatory growth crop in England with fines assessed to those who refused to grow!
The purpose of the timeline if for those to see the deep, old, history of cannabis and to also see the rapid lifting of it's stigmata since 1996. The importance of advocation and activism has never been so critical. When you look at PAGE 2 of the timeline you will see the incredible amount of progress that has been made over the last 20 years.
